Kind of formed in Charlottesville, VA in 1986 a year after the demise of Noman,
Bombpop remained a nameless and shapeless entity (seen in Star Trek TNG Episode #43) until 1992, when Maynard and
Tom and a kid named Hank started playing in the basement. Eric joined later when they said he could play guitar.
Like most bands, Bombpop sings, plays guitars and drums. Influences are the usual suspects: Replacements, Buzzcocks,
Kinks...but don't tell anybody. Truly, the sound of 4 people winging it.
We started Snap! with a Bombpop 45: Anita Hill b/w Bob Stinson/It's Okay. The A-side was reviewed as "well-intentioned,
if not timely", and Bob Stinson untimely died a month after we released the single. The zine Magnet ended
their review stating that "let's hope Bob laughs if he hears it". Made us sad to see him go. Since it
was a tribute and we're huge fans of him and the 'Mats, we didn't want to promote the single and have the appearance
of taking advantage of the deceased (whereas taking advantage of the living is okay...)
